PROMOTING SUSTAINED
WEIGHT LOSS

Weight Watchers takes an all-encompassing approach to weight management. One that fits all lifestyles and one that works for sustained weight loss.

Eating Smarter with Weight Watchers mean choosing the right foods, in the right amounts and keeping track of what members eat.

CHOOSING FOODS—The POINTS®System helps our members evaluate the weight loss impact of foods. They use POINTS values (determined by serving size, calories, fat and fiber of every food they eat) to make smart choices. These POINTS values guide them to great foods, too. The Filling Foods s-t-r-e-t-c-h POINTS values, helping our members keep hunger at bay and the Good Health Guidelines help them make sure they're meeting the needs of their bodies. The Momentum program also allows for an additional weekly POINTS Allowance which helps prevent
deprivation by allowing our members the freedom to indulge responsibly. On week one, members are guided on how to select foods that will help them lose weight and keep them satisfied.

TRACKINGTo limit the amount of food members eat, they have to pay attention. Keeping a record (tracking) of what and how much members eat will make them aware and adds accountability. That accountability will
work to help them lose weight. Studies show that keeping track of food
intake can boost weight-loss success. Tracking is easy and effective
and we'll show members how on their very first week!

Research shows that active people are more likely to maintain their weight loss. Since Weight Watchers promotes sustained weight loss rather than short-term results, exercise is an important part of the Program.

By encouraging a gradual increase in activity, Weight Watchers helps Members maintain a level of physical activity that will help them achieve individual health and weight-loss goals.

Best of all, Members can earn activity POINTS® values through exercise. These activity POINTS® values can be swapped for extra food POINTS values—another example of how Weight Watchers provides encouragement through positive reinforcement and motivation.

Weekly meetings are what really sets Weight Watchers apart. Led by extensively trained Leaders who have lost weight on the Program and kept if off, Weight Watchers meetings are a chance for Members to share ideas, strategies, and concerns in a supportive environment.

Members can attend meetings at their workplace (through our AT WORK department) or at any of our hundreds of meetings held within the area. Our meetings cover a series of weight-loss topics that are important to Members' success, providing take-home materials that allow Members to learn at their own pace.

The confidential weigh-in is a chance for Members to monitor their weight loss and receive acknowledgment for meeting specific benchmarks.

Behavior change is the only dependable way to achieve sustained weight loss. Long-term behavior change can be one of the most difficult and abstract goals of any weight loss program.

Weight Watchers has developed highly effective techniques for motivating Members and reinforcing their progress. The Program provides a set of techniques to help manage behaviors, thoughts, and feelings—skills they can use in many aspects of their lives and throughout their lifetime. These "Tools for Living" emphasize behavior change through self-monitoring and cognitive skills.

Our comprehensive 4-way approach to weight-loss is unsurpassed and we can use it to help you and your valued employees. We help our members achieve their weight-management goals through a scientifically-based food plan, increased exercise, support, motivation and information at our weekly meetings and through long-term behavior changes.
